…i mean seriously. how did sean bean not get an emmy or a golden globe nomination for game of thrones. for crying out loud! he didn’t get ONE nomination anywhere for his towering performance as ned stark. this makes me sad. well if i was giving out awards he’d be first on my list. well, after martin sheen for the west wing who did get nominated SIX times for the golden globe for his portrayal of jed bartlet and never won once. so they both get ‘Awardies’. an invisible, worthless, non existent yet thoroughly fair and well earned award.

it makes me think of more folks that have been overlooked. here’s one for you. for his combined efforts last year, shining wonderfully in three great movies (drive, crazy stupid love and the ides of march), mr ryan gosling wins an awardie for his 2011 films. i mean could his roles in crazy stupid love and drive be any more at odds with each other. how can they be the same man? watched back to back it’s a tour de force really. granted ides of march doesn’t ask too much of him but it’s still a great performance. so there we have it. ryan gosling.
